How I created a Community Driven Coaching Center - Story of Million Centers

Hello ! Who are you and what are you working on?

We are A Community driven-TUTOR/COACHING CENTER- SaaS platform that helps you find tutor and learn online in all learning fields, be it academic, yoga, fitness, hobby-related, or professional courses. We provide small tutors with a digital store-front for their coaching center that they can manage with a cell phone from anywhere, we Use Customer Reviews to help build trust and credibility and analytics for businesses. Our mission is simple – give the right tools, technology and platform to help millions learn and teach better.

What motivated you to get started with? How did you come up with the idea?

This journey for us started way back in 2016 , we have known each other for over 10 plus years and we wanted to always solve a problem large enough and one about which we cared passionately and immediately we started thinking about education sector.

Can you tell us the story of your business from idea to where you are now?

We initially developed one module minimal product that would provide a lead management service in entirety to our customers as that came out as the biggest gap in our EdTech initial survey and sector reports. Today we have launched many products such as class management, live classes for hobbies, free learning videos , communication channel for communities online on our android , apple and web platform.

What has been your biggest failure or struggle?

Apart from mindset change towards technology solutions, sometimes we face trust hurdles from our customers which we try to build by educating and training the customers. Winning that customer trust is crucial for us.

How many hours a day do you work on average & can you describe/outline your typical day?

typically more than 12 hours including weekends. lot of investor meetings since we are in fundraising phase.

And what has been your biggest achievement or success?

Today we have crossed over 50, 000 downloads on our android and apple platforms and we have secured our first 100 clients within 6 months of the product launch.

Since launch, what has worked to attract and retain customers?

we have created special communities on our social media channels where we get people onboard and introduce our product features to these groups. In terms of marketing and PR activities, we rely mostly on digital marketing channels now. We do go for a limited budget paid marketing when-ever we can.

Describe the process of launching the business.

To release a software product in the market the three key ingredients are The right team, the right product pricing and good client service delivery setup. We first gave our product free for a limited time to get that initial user experience feedback and then gradually improved the product and introduced pricing structure.

Did you use Betalist or PH or other Startup Launching Platform for Launching ? How was that experience ?

No we didn't use any specific platform to launch just Digital marketing and social channels to announce the launch.

What’s your business model, and how have you grown your revenue? 

We package our modules into subscription plans to be able to charge for each module generated. A start-up always works with limited resources and we plan the upcoming developments depending on user demands and market requirements and with a focus on revenue creation.

What are the biggest challenges you’ve faced and obstacles you’ve overcome? What are your goals for the future?

Hiring skilled professional at a startup salary was a bit difficult and we struggled there initially. To solve the issue we decided to partner with job portal services. Our roadmap for the next 3 years requires the firm to grow 8 times in terms of human resource and expand geographically to 2nd tier Indian cities

Let’s talk about your marketing strategy -- how do you market MillionCenters and grow the service?

We use internet advertising and seminars, flyers, contests, quiz, social media such as Google, Facebook, twitter etc. we prefer to use the TTL ( Through The line) approach in our marketing strategy.

Do you have a model to get product feedback? What’s your favorite way to get product feedback? Did product feedback help you get the results you hoped for ?

yes we have provided inbuilt function in our product for users to leave their feedback or drop us a message on issues. Of course we must admit some of the feedback we have used to change the product modules and User experience.


Through starting the business, have you learned anything particularly helpful or advantageous?

An important point to remember is Market analysis and pricing of product must be continuously updated, these are ongoing tasks for any business.

Entrepreneurship is about getting started and never stopping, with clear conviction to continuously keep learning, adapting, learning from mistakes, not being let down by failures and this road is long and requires a 200% effort
